Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog!  More to come!  I am just setting it up now and testing settings.  So far so good!

Later...................like, 2013 later.  Being still on dial up internet service, I found it just too impossible to pursue the blog or any other type on internet presence beyond my bare bones website that I set up in 1997.  And even that became increasingly difficult to maintain.  Way back then, I saw the direction things were going and I jumped on board.  Unfortunately, my ship didn't have any sails.

Over the next fifteen years I tried everything to get high speed internet service.  I called area telecoms every six months begging for service. I stood on my head on the roof with my feet wrapped in foil.  I even tried the despicable HughesNet satellite service and then had to disconnect after just one week of lousy service.  Friends would show up with their laptops declaring that THEY would get the internet to work out here only to leave with their tail between their legs.

Absolutely nothing worked in my rural location.  Finally, in the summer of 2012, a new satellite system became available, reportedly used by the military in the Middle East.  With cautious optimism, I ordered the system from my local REMC (Rural Electric something or other).  Much to my utter relief and delight, the system WORKED!!!!  After fifteen long years stuck in the pony express era, I was finally driving a Cadillac on the Information Highway.

I am actually grateful that I live in such an EMF free area.  I intentionally do not use any wifi or even a cell phone.  The atmosphere has a very peaceful and serene vibe to it.  And I want to keep it that way.  So I am very happy to have the satellite system WIRED to my PC.
